The new Series 6000 was designed specifically for engines rated up to 600 ft. lb. torque in pleasure craft applications. It's fully reversing feature allows for twin engine layout using "automotive" rotating engines, while the 8-degree down angle eliminates the problems that result from extremely steep engine installations. It's compact design and lightweight aluminum housing provide a shorter and lighter package than other products in its class. The improved hydraulic system, with reduced parasitic losses, offers more power to the propeller. A sister to the 5000 series transmission, the 6000 series has re-engineered internal components allowing it to accept the higher engine torque while utilizing the 5000 series envelope. The 6000 series has the same engine adaptation features as all Velvet Drive^® Transmissions and accepts the new Velvet Drive^® trolling system. The transmission is available in ratios of 1:1, 1.25:1, 1.5:1, 2.0:1, 2.5:1 and 2.8:1.
