I have a 2002 Malibu ski boat with a Hurch ZF-45C in it and it has alawys had a noticable clunking noise comming from the transmission only in neutral. I have had the damper plate and transmission replaced and the noise is still there. My questiong is, is this a normal sound for this tranny? It sounds as though the gears are catching inside and making the shaft pulse with every clunk in neutral. Other than the noise the tranny works fine. The noise is very anoying and I would like to get rid of it if possible. Any help would be apprciated.
