Dear Scott,

After 3 years of good service after overhaul, the tranny started to give little signs of problems yet to come, and they did.
Forward it is functioning properly.
However the reverse was working possible even better, ( very smooth )
It started with stalling the motor when Kicking in reverse.
In the beginning this was prevented by reving up quickly after reversing. ( we had to get home, ....)
After approx a week the reving up did no longer work.
The motor stalled imediately after putting it in reverse. ("CLUNCK")

It does not matter if the tranny has worked a lot / long in Fwd.
Also in the morning, it will stall the motor straight away.

In Fwd, the tranny is still sounding good, you will not notice that something is wrong.

I took the tranny apart, because I thought that I knew what was the problem.
( a bearing failure - Jammed stuck - on one of the pinion gears inside the clutch plate drum)
But if there is any problem on these bearings, it is minute, and not causing a motor stall.
The rest of the tranny is looking fine.

What can be the problem ?, I am kind of lost now !!!

The Motor is a Mercedes - OM616 - 65BHP
The prop is a feathering Kiwi Prop 16" ( those are rather brutal when putting in reverse, but with the beefy PV330L is capable of handling way more power than a mere 65BHP, is it,.....? )

Kind Regards
