My Paragon P33AL transmission has slowly developed a problem: it eventually goes into reverse when the transmission is warm and the engine rpm & forward motion of my boat is very slow but it will not engage when the transmission is cold nor at a high-idle engine speed. The two candidate causes (according to the operator's trouble-shooting guide) is a worn piston O-ring and of course a worn reverse band lining.
Is there any way to resolve this without pulling the transmission?
Is there any adjustment that can be made to offset a worn band lining? And where can I get hold of a repair manual for the Paragon P33AL?
Thanks for any help.
